Idiom: Cake

I like the picture more than the idiom for this week :p

dropped like a hot cake

“if something is dropped like a hot cake, it is rejected or disposed of very quickly”

So, this idiom refers to the conversation I had with my second supervisor last Monday. She’s eager to make my thesis published. During our 15 minutes meeting she talked a lot about the publishing things. She said that, surely, had your work published in an international journal was not an easy thing to do. Be prepared to had your article rejected, for they only approve 25% , at most, of the received articles. One more sentence she gave to motivate me: “never ever feeling hopeless when you have your article dropped like a hot cake by one journal, try another again and again!”
